Filtration Feed Spacers

Flow Channel Feed Spacers

Square Mesh Feed spacers from Industrial Netting offer dimensional stabilityPlastic netting is used as a feed spacer, or screen, between layers of filter media to facilitate the flow of fluids or air in filtration applications.

Plastic netting also adds integrity to media and can be used as a pleat support or as a pre-filter screen in normal flow applications.

We offer filter designers a variety of plastic mesh thicknesses, strand heights, and configurations to help them create the optimum fluid or air flow channel. Plastic netting can be custom converted to your size specifications with our slitting & rewinding or sheeting & die-cutting services.

Plastic Square Mesh features:

  • Aperture "locked" by fused joints
  • Smooth surface on one side
  • Structural integrity of grid

Square mesh extruded netting is also produced in rigid tubular form for use as a filter core or sleeve.

Plastic Diamond Mesh features:

  • Bi-planar construction
  • Relatively high strand profile
  • Minimal media contact

Extruded diamond mesh is a distinct bi-planar netting. The bi-planar construction creates flow channels across the filter medium. Due to its high profile strand construction it can provide support for the medium with minimal contact with the substrate - a common choice for spiral wound filter elements.

Diamond Mesh Netting will stretch under tension causing the hole shape to elongate in one direction and narrow in the other. This "accordion affect" causes the tensioned dimension to shorten and the perpendicular dimension to grow as material relaxes. Tolerances only apply at time of cutting.
