Rail Car Netting
Car-Go-Net® for Open Top Gondolas
Crushed Car plastic containment netting is your most economical method to meet the Association of American Railroads requirements for top loading gondolas. Installed properly, Car-Go-Net® containment netting will help contain loose debris during the transportation of scrap metal. Car-Go-Net® containment netting is disposable, thus eliminating costly labor associated with reusable tarps and screens. This polypropylene load plastic containment netting is:
Economical: A 48' gondola car uses only about $15 of our ¼" netting for complete coverage!
Easy to Apply: Drape 14-ft wide Car-Go-Net® plastic containment netting over a gondola car in a single pass. Gather the overhanging net under the lip at the top of the car and secure with cable ties. Use additional cable ties to secure netting to the sides.
Complies with AAR (Association of American Railroads) open top loading rules for scrap and metal loaded into gondola cars.
Disposable: Crushed car plastic containment netting is designed for a single use. Mills don't have to remove it - just rip it off during unloading. Lifting magnets or grapples can pull the load right out of the car without even untying the containment net. And Car-Go-Net® plastic containment netting is made from polypropylene so it can be easily shredded and also incinerates easily in the mill furnace.
